Scott Spinella – Always Friends

April 24, 2010

Some of the poems were written years ago and some are new. I wrote a song Always Friends a few years ago for my Dad. The song is on http://www.palwow.com profile Scott Spinella music. We all have best Friends through out our lives. Some die and some we just grow apart but my father has always been there no matter what. Here are the lyrics.

Scott  Spinella –  ” ALWAYS FRIENDS ”

Remember when i was a boy,

Held my hand and never let go,

As my father you told me my son,

I will teach you all i can,

Life is hard and nothing is free,

I only hope that you see,

you are my best friend,

I want your life a part of me,

You are my best friend,

The day will come when i will leave,

You are my best friend,

Be a man and live right for me,

I remember the time as a boy,

Hero of my world,

You taught me how to throw a ball,

You were always there to break my fall,

Now i know the wisdom that you gave,

helped me be a man today,

Always my Friend

Scott Spinella – What Happen

February 23, 2010

Check out Scott Spinella other blogs on www.palwow.com profile Scott Spinella. I wrote a poem a few years ago for my sister Tracy. Growing up i was very close to my sister Tracy. Before our parents got a divorce when i was 10, we were always together. As the years go by we are not that close anymore. I do not know what happen. I guess it is just part of life. We both got married and started our own lives. My parents divorce was very difficult for me. I could not understand why this was happening. You want to talk about a broken little boys heart. Let me stop before i cry like i was 10 again. Here’s the poem.

Scott Spinella : What Happen

Hey sis remember when we were kids, Swimming in the pool.

Mom and Dad still together and everything was cool.

Leaving cookies for Santa and presents under the tree.

Mom Mom and Pop Pop excited to see you and me.

Always together never apart, even know sometimes we fought.

Things got sad, parents broke up, I still cry cause of that thought.

You lived with Mom and i Lived with Dad.

What happen to the wonderful family we had.

Scott Spinella – So Far Away

February 16, 2010

Scott Spinella’s poem for Mom

Wrote this poem for my Mom. I love my Mom and we have always been close. For some reason the last few years maybe longer i do not call my Mom or visit my Mom as much as i should or could. I do not know why i do this. The poem is about me being so far away. I’m really only about 45 minutes away but in my mind I’m 1000 miles away. Here’s the poem.

So Far Away

Your son is away and not to near
I miss you mom with a tear.

When i was a boy you held me so tight
You knew i was scared when dad left that night.

You sat me down and said be strong my son
Life has ups and downs you just can’t run.

The day will come when you grow up and leave
Be a good man and always remember me.

The time has come and mom I’m scared again
This time your not here and i cry in the wind.

I’m so far away, scared and alone
I wish i could just run back home.

I miss your hug and gentle feel
In my heart you will always be near.

Scott Spinella – standin 8 count

February 9, 2010

Scott Spinella– My Music Carrier

Check out Scott Spinella band page http://www.myspace.com/standin8count. Scott Spinella and Jake Sylvestor started Standin 8 Count in 2002. I started playing guitar when i was 14. I played bass guitar in high school with a band in Dover, Delaware. We had 2 guitar players and no bass player, so we flipped a coin and I became the bass player. You think flipping a coin would be 50/50 odds but for some reason I always lose the coin flips even in poker.

We were a bunch of young guys trying to act like Led Zeppelin. None of us could play that good but we sure tried to look cool for the girls. We called the band White Lighting after moonshine. Funny story how we came up with that name. One of our friends brings some moonshine to a party and you can guess what happens from there. A bunch of dumb guys drinking moonshine and acting like fools but before the nights over we all get really really sick. I still get woozy thinking about that night.

Scott Spinella-My Life In Miami

After high school in the summer of 1983 I moved to Miami, Florida to live with my sister Laura. What a change from living in Delaware and Mayland my entire life. Wow every chick is smoking HOT on Miami beach. I thought I died and went to booty heaven. I wrote my first song back then White Sands on Miami Beach. I recorded this song 20 years later with Standin 8 Count. It is our last track on our first CD. I wrote a few other songs back then but one of my best 1980s songs was Help Me. Also recorded this with Standin 8 Count it is our opening track on our first CD. Help Me got some radio play in 2003. We changed Help Me a few years ago and made a new mix. You can check that out on http://www.myspace.com/standin8count page along with a few other songs we recorded for our new CD.

Scott Spinella– Back To Maryland

Hopefully after 7 years since our first CD we will finish our second CD some day.  After Miami I moved back to Maryland met my wife in 1985. We moved to Delaware and married in 1989. The dream of being a Rock Star is gone. As you grow up life changes, the years go by working, taking care of your family and before you know it your not that young kid anymore. The years just keep flying by. I still play guitar and bass. Jake and I get together every once in a while and record a new song for our second CD. I jam with my brother Mike now and then. He plays Piano but I taught him bass last summer. Most of my time now is spent on the internet company my father and I started last year. We will be launching 2 new sites real soon www.bizwrk.com a business network and www.palwow.com a social network. Visit my profile Scott Spinella on www.palwow.com
